Wellington, FL (February 21, 2024) – Interagro Lusitanos has a new FEI level dressage star to add to their already highly decorated portfolio of sport horses. Hectar Interagro, who was imported to the US in February 2022, was named the USDF Prix St. Georges/Intermediaire I High Score Lusitano (PSL) for 2023. With the new year just getting started, the 2011 bay gelding (Profano Interagro x Cassandra Interagro) is already on track to repeat his high score performance with scores up to 73.382% at the 2024 Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) with Elite Horse Academy’s Tiago Ernesto in the irons.
Born and bred at Interagro Lusitano’s Brazilian training and breeding center, Hectar Interagro initially was developed as a driving horse, a speciality in which Interagro excels and has produced many top horses. However, his exceptional gaits, conformation, and aptitude for collection prompted a career change, and it quickly became apparent that the horse inherited not only the athleticism but also the rideability and extraordinary mind for which Interagro has been breeding since 1974. With his facial markings depicting an uncanny resemblance to a map of South America to represent his origins abroad, Hectar Interagro was imported to the United States and Ernesto was selected to train and campaign.
They then went on to show in the AGDF 3 National at the beginning of January, scoring 73.382% in the USEF FEI Prix St Georges/Test of Choice to finish second in the class. During the AGDF 5 National Show, Hectar and Ernesto scored a 72.5% in the FEI Open Prix St. Georges to tie with the rider in first place.
