World Champion Hunter Rider Week delivered excitement in the hunter rings, highlighted by the USJHA International and National Derbies. The Northern Series continues to build momentum, with riders competing for $600,000 in prize money.
USHJA International Hunter Derby — Northern Series
One beautiful round after another in our first RT Hay USHJA International Hunter Derby in Sacramento. Jenifer Paris and Dia Rocko were champions, with a stunning first round that helped seal the deal. Congratulations to Jenifer, Dia Rocko, and the winning groom, Oscar Ahumada!
Rounding out the top threes were Grace Belmont & Diamant De Cassini in second and Melissa Gruber & Oak Island in third.
Millennium Farm USHJA National Hunter Derby — Northern Series
Congratulations to Winn Alden and Suit and Tie for a beautiful round to win the Millennium Farm USHJA National Hunter Derby, part of the Northern Series!
Kylee Arbuckle aboard Laudrup placed in second place, with Samantha Lubrant and Karismo rounding out the top three.
Kindred Hill Farm USHJA National Jr/Am Hunter Derby — Northern Series
Darby Bonomi and Little Wing won blue in a large and competitive class in the Kindred Hill Farm USHJA National Junior/Amateur Hunter Derby – part of the Northern Series. It was a good day for Kindred Hill Farms and Darby, It was Little Wing’s first win and Darby also placed third on Davinci. Congratulations to the Kindred Hill Farm team.
Isabella Scrima and Bordeaux finished in second and Darby Bonomi and Davinci in third.
Presley Orzen and Jacobea II KS Win Back-to-Back Grand Prix
What a couple of weeks for Presley Orzen and Jacobea II KS, winning their second Grand Prix in two weeks. The night brought excitement, amazing food, wine, and a perfect spring evening. Congratulations to Presley, Jacobea II KS, and groom Ruben Candido for a job well done!
Carol Wright finished second aboard Idylle De Maugre and third on Matacanes LS. Presley sits at the top of the leaderboard for the Northern Series Grand Prix rider division with Carol right behind her.
GGT Footing 1.35m
Congratulations to Jan Hanson and Truth or Dare PR on a quick and clean round to win the GGT Footing 1.35m. It was a great ending to the day for Jan and Truth or Dare PR. Rounding out the top three, also finishing with double clear rounds were Lauren Kolbe and Uilinn Breeze in second and Jill Humphrey and Maloubet E in third.
GGT Footing 1.20m Classic Northern Series
Parker Abe and Powerball put in the fastest jump off round to secure the win in the GGT Footing 1.20m Northern Series. Sara Katz and Da Vinci finished in second and Elizabeth Messi and Reader finished in third.
Northern Open Equitation Challenge “In Loving Memory of Colin”
Junior, amateur, and professional riders put their equitation skills to the test in the Northern Open Equitation Challenge. After two rounds, Samantha Wood aboard Diador Von Der Heidentakes took home the win. Addison Cheetham on Cetello finished second and Gillian Beach on Ipswich rounded out the top three in third.
