Strzegom, 8 October 2026 — The Strzegom October Festival is underway, marking the final international eventing competition of the 2026 season in Strzegom. A total of 400 horse-and-rider combinations have gathered at the Morawa Hippodrome for four days of international and national competition. The October event will also host the Polish Eventing Cup Final and the decisive rounds of two season-long series – the DCU Strzegom Tour and the Strzegom Rising Stars Tour.

The starting lists feature some of the biggest names in international eventing, including multiple Olympic medallist Andrew Hoy, Julia Krajewski, individual Olympic champion from Tokyo and team silver medallist at this year’s World Championships in Aachen, and Tom McEwen, a member of the British team that won Olympic gold in Tokyo and Paris, as well as team gold at the World Championships in Aachen. Their presence highlights the sporting significance of the event, which brings the international eventing season in Morawa to a close.

Julia Krajewski leads the CCI4*-L

The opening day was dominated by dressage tests, establishing the early leaders ahead of the remaining phases of competition. In the highest-level class, CCI4*-L, Julia Krajewski and Tullabeg Platinum took the lead with 26.3 penalties. Fellow German rider Nicolai Aldinger and Palm Beach are in second place on 27.7, while Ben Leuwer and Zuccini MN hold third with 27.8 penalties.

German riders also lead the CCI3*-L

In the CCI3*-L, Germany’s Rebecca-Juana Gerken and Cadillac 76 produced the best dressage score of 27.0 penalties. Kai Rüder and Nash are second on 28.4, while one of eventing’s most accomplished riders, Ingrid Klimke and Candy 851, holds third place with 29.3 penalties.

Julia Krajewski also tops the CCI2*-L standings

Julia Krajewski also made an excellent start in the CCI2*-L. Riding the mare Ajana, she took the lead after dressage with 28.2 penalties. Italy’s Rebecca Chiappero and Shanaghan Faith are close behind in second place on 28.6, while Germany’s Felicia von Baath and Novia LH sit third with 28.7 penalties.

Just half a penalty separates the top three combinations. With such narrow margins, every performance in the remaining phases could prove decisive in determining the final standings.

The grand finale of the season is still to come

The opening day of Strzegom October Festival was only the beginning of the sporting action. Over the coming days, riders will tackle demanding cross-country courses and show jumping tracks, which will determine the final results in each class.

The Polish Eventing Cup Final promises plenty of excitement as the winners of the season-long competition are crowned. The DCU Strzegom Tour will also reach its conclusion, with a total prize fund of €10,000 at stake. Points earned at the final count double towards the overall standings, keeping the battle for the top positions wide open. The winners of the Strzegom Rising Stars Tour, a series dedicated to young riders, will also be decided.

From the spring competitions, through LOTTO Strzegom Horse Trials, Strzegom Summer Tour, and Strzegom Autumn Show, to the October finale – the Morawa Hippodrome has hosted months of exciting eventing action. Strzegom October Festival will bring this remarkable season to a close, with three more days of competition ahead to decide the final winners of the 2026 season.
