Brooke USA Foundation (Brooke USA) is thrilled to announce the Palm Beach debut of Divertimentos & Dressage, presented by Lugano Diamonds, a one-of-a-kind showcase by dressage riders mastering art and competition while performing choreographed movements with their Grand Prix horses to a live symphony orchestra. Presented in partnership with South Florida’s premier Palm Beach Symphony, Brooke USA’s signature event is coming to Wellington on March 23, 2023, in the covered arena at the Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center.

“Whether you love horses and symphony, or more generally, animals and music, or even a unique night out, Divertimentos & Dressage is an exciting masterpiece that is captivating audiences, and we are so pleased to bring the event to Palm Beach County, specifically Wellington, the Winter Equestrian Capital of the World,” states Emily Dulin, CEO of Brooke USA. “Palm Beach Symphony, known for its diverse repertoire and commitment to the community, is a natural partner for us as we combine efforts to alleviate the suffering of working horses, donkeys, and mules, and the people they serve in vulnerable communities across the globe.”

The dressage musical freestyle will feature champion riders including:  Jim Koford, Grand Prix Dressage Rider; J.J. Tate, U.S. Dressage Federation (USDF) bronze, silver, and gold medalist and Brooke USA Ambassador; Allison Kavey, International Grand Prix Competitor; Todd Flettrich, veteran competitor, Olympic contender, and trainer at the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) levels; Rebecca Hart, two-time Paralympian and seven-time United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) National Champion; Sahar Daniel Hirosh, International Grand Prix rider and competitor; and others to be announced.

Divertimentos & Dressage was originally conceptualized by equestrian and flautist, Sally Frick, Founding Chair of the Foothills Advisory Council, and member of the Board of Directors of Brooke USA. After three successful years, the Palm Beach debut, chaired by Margaret H. Duprey & Selma Garber, is sure to delight guests with an orchestral repertoire that includes works by Mozart, Strauss, Beethoven, Holst, Brahms, and Sousa performed by Palm Beach Symphony.

“This is an exciting event offering the perfect combination of skill and entertainment for guests to enjoy something truly unique during the Wellington Winter Equestrian Circuit, while doing good for horses, donkeys, and mules around the world,” states Margaret H. Duprey Palm Beach debut Event Chair, international dressage rider, and recipient of United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation’s R. Bruce Duchossois Distinguished Trustee Award. “We look forward to hosting guests from throughout Palm Beach County for an unforgettable evening of horses, music, auction items, and more,” adds Equestrian and Co-Chair Selma Garber.

Starting with registration at 6:00 PM, Divertimentos & Dressage guests will enjoy a pre-performance reception with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Promptly at 7:30 PM, guests will be treated to a one-hour freestyle dressage performance to classical music. Divertimentos & Dressage is an exhilarating event that brings together people who genuinely want to make a difference and improve the lives of working equines and humankind. Brooke USA has helped horses being sold and traded across India’s equine fairs, riders and their horses stranded in Ukraine, donkeys and their owners affected by the floods in Pakistan, women securing water for their family in Ethiopia, and families and their animals working in the brick kilns of India. Right here in the U.S., the organization continues to combat the donkey hide trade in Congress.
