Devon, PA – May 29, 2026 – The Devon Horse Show is known as the place “Where Champions Meet,” and on Thursday, May 28, standout performances from both veteran competitors and emerging talent highlighted two premier events: the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, sponsored by The Wheeler Family, and the pinnacle event of the 2026 Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, the $210,000 Sapphire Grand Prix of Devon, sponsored by Meridian Bank.
$210,000 Sapphire Grand Prix of Devon
USA’s Charlotte Jacobs topped Thursday night’s $210,000 Sapphire Grand Prix of Devon, sponsored by Meridian Bank, proving unbeatable in the jump-off and posting the fastest round of the eight riders who advanced.
$50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby
Amanda Prescott Steege and Cheryl Olsten’s Lafitte De Muze checked another milestone off the list, earning the win in Thursday’s $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, sponsored by The Wheeler Family.
Carrying on a Devon Legacy
More than a century after Amanda Prescott Steege’s great grandfather, Geoffrey Story Smith, showed at the Devon Horse Show in 1913, Amanda made her own mark in the Dixon Oval, capturing the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby with Cheryl Olsten’s Lafitte De Muze.
“Devon is obviously a special show for all of us, but my mom’s family grew up in Fort Washington and Blue Bell, so I have a picture of my great grandfather showing here in 1913,” said Steege. “It is an extra special place for me and always on our schedule and a show that I don’t want to miss.”
From family history to a derby victory, Devon once again proved why it is one of the most meaningful places in the sport.
