The competition at the Morawa Hippodrome is officially underway, with eventing riders delivering an impressive level of sport from the very first day. Thursday was dedicated to the dressage phase, providing spectators with the first sporting highlights of the LOTTO Strzegom Horse Trials.

The Main Arena hosted three prestigious long-format classes. In the CCI2*-L, an international field of competitors produced several standout performances. Great Britain’s Annabel Ridgway, riding Emerald Katie, impressed with an excellent test. Despite this being only their second international start together, the pair claimed the overnight lead. Matej Sukdolak and Mint currently sit in second place, while Poland’s Daria Kobiernik and Good Boy complete the top three.

A closely contested battle unfolded in the CCI3*-L, where ten combinations fought for the top positions. France’s Mae Rinaldi and Kirwan delivered the best performance of the day. The French rider returned to Morawa in style, having already enjoyed success here by winning the individual bronze medal at the 2024 FEI European Eventing Championships for Juniors with the very same horse. Sweden’s Åsa Alsterlund and Cash in Hugo occupy second place after a precise and harmonious dressage test. Poland’s Daria Kobiernik continued her strong start to the competition by finishing third aboard Trybunal.

The highest-level class of the day was dominated by riders from Sweden and New Zealand. Sweden’s Therese Viklund, who is based in Great Britain, together with the mare Sella, produced an outstanding dressage performance to take the lead. World number one Tim Price of New Zealand sits in second place with The Highlander, while also occupying third position with his second horse, Garson, underlining his exceptional form.

LOTTO Strzegom Horse Trials is about much more than world-class sporting competition. Throughout the event, visitors can enjoy a wide range of attractions, making the Morawa Hippodrome a destination for dedicated equestrian fans and local families alike. Admission to the event remains free of charge, giving everyone the opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of one of Europe’s leading eventing competitions.

And this is only the beginning. The action continues to build on Friday, with more exciting competitions still to come. We warmly invite everyone to join us at the Morawa Hippodrome and cheer on the riders at the LOTTO Strzegom Horse Trials.
