At Savannah College of Art and Design, students can get a degree in equestrian studies, preparing them for careers across the equine studies spectrum, including as competitive riders, trainers, and barn managers. Graduates step into leadership and management roles at international equestrian nonprofit organizations and have published and exhibited work as in-demand equine photographers, journalists, and painters.
The SCAD equestrian studies program runs parallel to the university’s powerhouse equestrian team, which has won more national championships in the last two decades than any other team in the country — earning more than 100 individual and team awards since 2002. Among these honors are more than 40 individual and team American National Riding Commission champion and reserve champion titles — including a string of six consecutive national team championships — and nearly 40 individual Intercollegiate Horse Show Association champion and reserve champion titles.
