Geneva, 12 May 2026 – The eyes of the equestrian world turn to Germany for the TSCHIO Aachen, the second of four annual Majors in the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping. Taking place from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 May, this year’s edition represents a unique moment in the sport’s history, with show jumping standing as the singular showpiece discipline. The finest horse and rider combinations will strive for success on the hallowed turf of the Hauptstadion, an outdoor arena renowned for its scale and atmosphere.
Home favourite Richard Vogel arrives as the live contender for the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping following his standout victory with United Touch S at The Dutch Masters in March. This challenge resumes next weekend as he chases a prize that demands consistency across continents and conditions to win three consecutive Majors titles. Vogel is looking forward to Aachen, where he has delivered numerous clear rounds and high-speed displays in recent years:
“Aachen is my favourite Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping Major. It’s my home show and the atmosphere there is unique. Every rider dreams about winning it.”
Returning to this stage is Martin Fuchs, whose victory in 2025 with Leone Jei added a new chapter to a remarkable family legacy, emulating his uncle Markus Fuchs and godfather Willi Melliger who had previously triumphed at Aachen. Fuchs discusses how it felt to capture the Rolex Grand Prix crown last year:
“I felt very proud of what this moment represented for my family. What made it even more emotional was realizing the connection across generations. During the prize-giving, I thought a lot about my uncle and others who played such important roles in my career. It was deeply emotional.”
Vogel adds:
“To win any of the Rolex Majors is an outstanding achievement. With a world-class horse like United Touch S, these are the events we focus on most; there’s no question about it. To be at the top of that list at the first Major of the year is something very special and, hopefully, a good indicator for the rest of the circuit.”
The German rider’s words capture the magnitude of these occasions unlike any other in equestrianism. In just a few days’ time, Aachen is once again set to draw together the leading riders, the most accomplished horses and a discerning audience. Former winners Scott Brash, Daniel Deusser, and Kent Farrington will be joined by Sophie Hinners and Gilles Thomas as they bid to make their mark at the sport’s spiritual home. It is there that the next chapter of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping will unfold, and Aachen will once again witness the making of sporting legends.
